Easter Egg Run 2008
Easter came early and winter came late so a covering of snow and ice in the car parks, particularly in Darlington, meant that we had to cancel the 2008 Easter Egg Run.
Despite that disappointing news it was fantastic to see that so many of those who attended the Tesco car park in Durham were in such good cheer.
Many riders and pillions had made that extra effort to enter into the Easter spirit and despite the disappointing news they still happily donated Easter Eggs for the hospitals.
The children at Darlington Memorial Hospital and the University Hospital of North Durham were left beaming with smiles on the Sunday as the motorcycle section officers delivered the eggs that same day to make sure that the children on the wards weren't going to be left disappointed.
Despite the cancellation those that still went to Tesco donated a hundred pounds which will go towards Meningitis research, that's in addition to money also raised towards the Great North Air Ambulance!
So to you all a big thank you from the bike section for your understanding of what was a very frustrating morning, but most of all a big thank you from the children in our hospital wards!
Fingers crossed for 2009!
